Wide interior view of Olympia London during Xerocon 2026, the Xero conference for accountants and bookkeepers

I photographed Xerocon 2026 at Olympia London — Xero’s conference for accountants and bookkeepers — covering the main stage, breakout sessions, the exhibitor floor and delegate portraits across both days of the event. I was on site throughout, joined on day two by a second photographer, two videographers and three editors processing and delivering images in real time. Olympia’s barrel-vaulted glass roof gives the halls a quality of daylight that most conference venues cannot, and the coverage was built around it: daylight-led reportage through the day, controlled lighting for the stage and portrait work.

What was covered

Main stage keynotes and product announcements
Breakout sessions and partner tracks
Exhibitor floor, sponsor stands and brand activations
Speaker and executive portraits
Networking, receptions and delegate candids

The brief for Xerocon 2026

Xero needed images working across several channels at once: live social posting during the conference, press and partner distribution, and a library for post-event marketing and internal communications. Coverage had to hold up as reportage while still delivering the clean, on-brand frames the marketing team could use immediately.

Delivery

3,000+ edited images delivered, supplied as a licensed digital gallery covering marketing, PR, social, web and internal use. Highlights went out live during the event for same-day social use, with the full edited gallery delivered the following day.

Working a conference at Olympia

A conference on this scale leaves no room for a second attempt: parallel sessions, fixed keynote slots, and an exhibitor floor that only looks its best while it is busy. My press background is the reason it works — anticipating the moment rather than staging it, moving quietly at senior level, and delivering press-ready frames to deadline. Olympia adds its own demands: the daylight through the glass roof shifts through the day, so the running order determines where the best pictures are, and knowing that in advance is the difference between covering an event and photographing it well.
